Melissa founded Corethics after undertaking research in Bali, Lombok, and Sumbawa to understand the impacts of mass tourism on water depletion and pollution in 2017. Melissa brings experience from the charity, private, and public sectors across law, health, and finance. Her skills are broad in project management, human resources, program development, and advocacy. Melissa holds a Bachelor of International Studies and a Diploma of Marketing.

Cameron is a passionate business administrator and director of communications and engagement with nearly twenty years of consulting experience in the private, government and non-government sectors. As an executive, he has advised blue-chip organisations across the spectrum of industry on how to better talk with and look after their most valuable assets: people and community. His past appointments include lead positions on several once-in-a-generation infrastructure projects, where he directed large teams, counselled senior executives and managed influential external stakeholders. Enriching his capabilities as an administrator, he has formerly served the boards of high-profile institutions in higher education and environment. Cameron holds a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Media Practice, Certificate IV in Project Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Conservation. He wants to help make the world a better place.

Marnie Coates

Board Director [Chemical Engineer Expert]

Marnie is a Chartered Professional, RPEQ and Principal Process Engineer with Hunter H2O. Marnie has been with Hunter H2O since February 2002 and has many years of water treatment design and operational experience. In 2014, Marnie transitioned into a senior Project Management role which included construction management for a range of infrastructure upgrades. Several of these projects were part of Hunter Water’s EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) program. Marnie is currently project managing the John Gilbert WTP Filter Refurbishment works, Water, Sewer and Fire System upgrades for Reflections Holiday Parks and the Jervis Bay WTP Replacement project on behalf of the Commonwealth. Skilled in Water Treatment, Environmental Awareness, Water Resource Management, and Process Engineering, Marnie is a strong operation professional with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering (with Honours) from the University of Newcastle.

Yola Bakker

A multidisciplinary thought leader and creative for change, Yola is an influential leader. Passionate about pursuing actionable sustainability that serves the ongoing demands of humanity, she is committed to using her intersectionality to challenge the status quo of systemic inequalities, building environments that foster higher levels of self-actualisation for all. With a background in performing arts, real estate and consular corps to environmental impact, Yola brings her creative flair and resilience to the Corethics Board of Directors. As a Makassan Moluccan woman, cultural cultivation shapes the definitive set of values by which she works and plays, underpinning her astute business drive that seeks to solve for the better.

Lisa has worked extensively for international advocacy, health, gender agriculture and WASH NGOs in digital communications and storytelling.

Daniel is an industry leader in water, energy, and resources management and has extensive experience delivering water and sanitation projects in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Africa and South America. He holds a number of technical and advisory positions with Australian Water Partnership, University of New South Wales, Unity Water, Engineers without Borders, Carbon8, RedR, and Operation Water. Daniel is passionate about working with clients and stakeholders to identify, develop and implement smart, sustainable solutions for clients.

Caroline is an inspiring strategic leader, award-winning director on boards, a businesswoman, coach, and public speaker. Her life’s purpose is to transform the lives of individuals and organizational leaders, driving high performance in the workplace and in her personal life.

Peter Burgess

Peter’s career has spanned academic, industry, government and corporate roles, in Australia, the UK and Asia, including with AusAID, World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. Peter has held academic, governance and advisory board positions with tertiary institutions in Australia, China, Singapore, New Zealand, USA, UK and Sri Lanka. Peter is passionate about education and the importance of implementing learning frameworks that best bridge the education divide between developed and less developed countries at all learning levels.

Reni Lestari

With 7+ years of senior management experience, Reni is working as a consultant for several firms in the area of project management, strategic planning and partnership, startup, and community development. She is co-founder of Regional Sustainable Future (RSF), a social platform to connect and execute impactful UN SDG aligned projects in the region. Reni is passionate about transformative and practical approaches to solving social, economic, and environmental issues at the grassroots level.

Steve Adamthwaite

Steve leads Arup’s NSW/ACT Water Business and drives water strategies centred on implementing sustainable, community-oriented solutions and delivering the best levels of service and infrastructure for the community and industry. He also holds strategic leadership positions with WaterAid NSW, Australian Water Association, and Engineers Australia and was named 2022 National Future Infrastructure Leader and 2022 Young Engineer of the Year. Steve is passionate about solving water scarcity, hygiene and sanitation issues.
